Hispanic Cultural Day

All MS 22 Teachers prepared weekly advisory lessons during the month of October in preparation of Hispanic Cultural Month and culminating event with entire school gathering for Assembly.  Activities included: What are some contributions that you know Hispanics have made to the United States?  Few mentioned, Justice Sonia Sotomayor, Vincent Guilamo-Ramos HIV/Aids Registred Nurse, licensed Social Worker, professor at NYU and found of the Center for Latino Adolescent and Family Health, and lastly teachers introduced contribution of Hispanic singers and musicians with a special focus on Eddie Montalvo who was a special guest for the culminating assembly event to close off acknowledging  Hispanic Cultural Month.  MBK collaborated with M.S. 22 Administration and teachers to organize a celebration honoring hispanic culture through education and FUN!!!! Children, Principal, teachers, and staff enjoyed the gran finale with concert by Eddie Montalvo, two time grammy winner, born and raised in the South Bronx of New York City.  Our children related to the artist, music, and cultural roots.
